Learning objectives

  • Improve their scientific knowledge of upper extremity surgery professional practices and patient care.

Session structure

Interactive learning and practice exchange with international experts will be structured according to the  following format:

• Interactive debate in three steps:
• Q & A between the expert speakers and a discussion panel.
• Open dialogue with all attendees.
• Assessment with multiple choice questions using an internet platform.

The meeting will be on demand on 21 and 22 of November 2020 so every delegate can participate during the day with active participation will be held from 6:00 to 6:30 pm CEST in order to allow all parties from all around the world to be able to join the event.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)

How will the meeting take place?

Meeting will be held based on the meeting schedule. Each Unit will follow its agenda, with time for presentations and discussion of documents.
The meeting environment will replicate the face-to face annual assembly inasmuch as possible, including presentations, discussions and questions.

How many participants do you expect for this event?

As based on the reduced cost and the limited resources for the participation to the on-line event, we expect a significantly increased number of participants. We expect to get around 600 delegates around the World.

Will participants be able to address questions directly to speakers?

All participants will be allowed to address questions. The recommended method is through the Chat. In each session, a group composed by the Session Chair, speakers and experts will also have the possibility to speak, present and interact.

How does a presentation get online? Are all presentations managed by the chair?

Presenters may choose to present their content form their device (PC, Tablet, Laptop) by sharing themselves their screen; in this case, they’ll have full control on what is shown. As an alternative, as a director will be following each session, the presenter or the Chair may ask for his support.

How will I get IT support during the sessions?

IT support will be offered during each session by an IT expert joining each session. To troubleshoot, you just have to ask for support during the chat.

Does the virtual booth are the same offer meeting opportunities similar to physical booths where sponsors can meet current and perspective customers?

Each booth may offer the possibility of organising sessions for live interaction with customers, in form of conference (e.g. satellite sessions), meetings 1:1 with delegates.
An advantage is that everyone getting in contact will be qualified with a contact that may help to follow up after the conference.

PAFSSH

Mission
We are a union of the societies of hand surgeries in the Arab speaking countries. Our mission is to establish relationships, share knowledge and experience amongst the local societies of surgery of the hand in different neighboring Arab countries. Improve the standard of care in the fields of hand, and peripheral nerve surgery offered in the Arabic region, through improving the skills, research, and equipment.

Vision
The PAFSSH is looking forward to have a distinguished role in the fields of hand surgery and microsurgery in the Arabic area and all over the world, by having a safe up-to-date medical service. Also to create, and participate in regional and international scientific opportunities and research.
The beneficiaries of the PAFSSH would be endowed with up-to-date evidence based hand and microsurgery knowledge.

    Dr. Enrique Santas Olmeda

     

    Dr. Enrique Santas, MD, PhD,  is a cardiologist at the Hospital Clínico Universitario in Valencia (Spain). He is an active clinician and an emergent researcher, with a focus on heart failure and cardiac imaging. Currently, he is the director of the cardio-oncology program at his institution, dedicated to the cardiovascular health of patients undergoing cancer treatment as well as cancer survivors.

     

    Prof. Dimitrios Goulis

    Professor Dimitrios G. Goulis completed his medical training (MD) and received his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Having a scholarship from the European Union, he worked as Clinical Research Fellow at St. Mary’s Hospital, London, acquiring the specialty of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. He is currently professor of Reproductive Endocrinology in the 1st Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Aristotle University. Prof. Goulis has published 300 full papers in peer-review international journals 40 chapters in international textbooks. He was an invited speaker in 400 international and Greek congresses. He is currently or had been Head of the Unit of Reproductive Endocrinology, 1st Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology; Director of the training center in Andrology of the European Academy of Andrology (EAA); Vice-resident and Secretary General of the European Menopause and Andropause Society (EMAS); Secretary General of the European Academy of Andrology (EAA); Director of the executive committee for the postgraduate training program (MSc) in “Research Methodology in Medicine and Health Sciences”; Member of the executive committees for the postgraduate training programs (MSc) in “Medical Research Methodology” and “Human Reproduction” (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki); and associate editor of “Human Reproduction”, “Andrology”, “Metabolism”, “Journal of Endocrinological Investigation”, “Hormones”, “Anir” and “Human Reproduction Open”. Prof. Goulis’ main research interests include Andrology, menopausal transition, endocrine complications of pregnancy, polycystic ovary syndrome and research methodology.

    Prof. Margaret Rees

    Margaret Rees has an international reputation of leadership in women’s midlife health and is the Executive Director of the European Menopause and Andropause Society.  A gynaecologist, she is Editor in Chief of Case Reports in Women’s Health and Emeritus Editor of Maturitas.  Her expertise has been recognized nationally and internationally, by appointments to a Readership in Reproductive Medicine at Oxford University; and visiting Professorships at Glasgow University and at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden and the University of Turku in Finland, and an Adjunct Associate Professorship at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, New Jersey.
